Welcome to Independent Snagging Specialist
Martin is a family man who has been in the construction industry for 35+ years.
For the last 18 years he has worked for 5 different housing developers ranging from bespoke builders with houses costing in the millions, to your volume house builder who build hundreds of houses in no time at all. He has worked as a Site Manager and a Customer Care Manager, so he has comprehensive knowledge of the new build process.
Martin is NHBC Defect Trained as well as the practical experience gained during the 35+ years in the business.
As an Independent Snagging Specialist overheads are less, which is why our prices are more competitive than other companies who use self-employed agents..
The Building industry is at breaking point and it’s not slowing down anytime soon.
Companies are struggling to get good trades people due to the amount of housing developments going on. There are a lot of overseas workers on sites currently, some good, some bad, but without these trades we wouldn’t be able to build the volume of homes that are needed.
Some builders are better than others or this is the public opinion. My personal opinion is, no matter how much you pay for a property or who builds it the quality will remain with the Management Team who is running the development as they have ultimate control of the development.
Buying a new home is likely to be the most expensive purchase you will make so it needs to be right.
The first impression is key. If it looks good outside, it is probably good inside.
If it looks disappointing outside, it will probably be disappointing inside.
Remember!! A few hundred ££`s on an inspection can save you a few thousand ££`s in the near future. There are some very good house builders out there, but there are some very poor ones too!
There is a right time and a wrong time to have your home snagged to guarantee the work will be completed by the developer.
I am happy to discuss this with you on the phone before you make a booking.
What you can expect from the snagging process?
You can expect a full professional snagging process internally and externally. This will include an inspection of the roof space where we will check all extractor hoses, roof vents, air flow in the loft to insure there will be no condensation. We will check all bracing and that straps are secure with the correct fixings.
Everything externally will be check including drainage chambers.
Most companies use NHBC (National House Builder Council) or LABC (Local Authority Building Control) for technical guidance which means you have a specification tolerance guide to work to. This can be helpful to the builder as well as the customer.

Martin was very helpful and professional he was happy to arrange the visit to fit in around our work commitments and was very friendly, his inspection was thorough and there was flexible package options which were explained well and proved to be good value. He also pointed out things in our new house we would never have realised were a snagging issue. We would definitely recommend this to anyone who buys a new build property for reassurance and peace of mind in your new home.
